Our History

Formed in March 2014, Bondi Phoenix was founded by the social netball league, Love Netball.

Love Netball had been offering training sessions to primary school students, mostly the daughters of players participating in their adult leagues.

After training for over a year, it was time for them to play in actual competition games! Bondi Phoenix was formed and entered 4 teams into the Randwick Netball Association competition at Heffron Park in Maroubra in Terms 2 and 3.

These same players wanted to continue playing during the traditional 'off season' of Spring and Summer, so 6 teams were entered into the Eastern Suburbs Netball Association leagues in the same year, at Waverley Park, Bondi Junction across Term 4 and Term 1 2014/15.

In 2016 we entered 9 teams into RNA, and our results:

Team 1 - Inters Division 4 - 3rd Place
Team 2 - 14's Division 4 - 5th Place
Team 3 - 13's Division 2 - 1st Place
Team 4 - 12's Division 3 - 3rd Place
Team 5 - 11's Division 1 - 4th Place
Team 6 - 11's Division 3 - 2nd Place
Team 7 - 10's Division 3 - 1st Place
Team 8 - 10's Division 4 - 2nd Place
Team 9 - NetSetGo participants

Reps - we have had 9 players selected for the Representative Selection squads for 2017's Sate Age Championships!

Umpires - we had 9 girls participate in our Umpires Development program

Assistant Coaches - we had 5 participants in our Assistant Coaching program.

In 2015 we entered 7 teams into RNA, and our results:

Team 1 - 13's - Finalists
Team 2 - 13's - Premiers
Team 3 - 12's - Runners Up
Team 4 - 12's - 6th place
Team 5 - 11's - Premiers
Team 6 - 10's - Premiers
Team 7 - NetSetGo participants

We had 8 coaches complete accreditations:

1 x Intermediate Coaching Accreditation
1 x Development Coaching Accreditation
6 x Foundation Coaching Accreditations

In 2016 we seek to build on the success of our foundation years - with girls and their parents participating in our Umpires Development program, and all our coaches being offered the opportunity to develop their own skills with Foundation Development & Intermediate programs offered by Netball Australia.
